The debate around the Copyright Industries is extremely complex and involves too many players with different interests. While its issues are not resolved and the current law remains, other alternatives have been developed such as: Creative Commons license, the Open Source Movement and Copyleft.

Overall, they all have one factor in common: all three alternatives believe that sharing and being able to build upon someone else’s work is crucial for successful development and evolution.
