FUTURE OF ASIMO
Asimo was created to help humans in their daily lifestyle, do you want a robot to cook for you?clean your house, play with your kids or get you groceries? well if that’s case ASIMO is here to help.
Honda engineers created ASIMO with 34 Degrees of Freedom that help it walk and perform tasks much like a human. One Degree of Freedom is the ability to move right and left or up and down. These degrees of freedom act much like human joints for optimum movement and flexibility. Lightweight materials, like a magnesium alloy structure, combined with powerful computers and 34 servo motors throughout its body help ASIMO move smoothly with ease. ASIMO body is made of magnesium alloy and plastic resin which makes ASIMO very durable and lightweight.ASIMO power source is rechargeable by 51.8 volts of titanium battery which last for one hour on a single charge.
In terms of movement, ASIMO can walk, run, climb, and jump while avoiding any obstacles ahead. ASIMO has three main sensors; ultrasonic sensor, visual sensor and ground sensor.Other functions like moving the cart and carrying a tray ASIMO rely on movement functions and sensors.ASIMO is also intelligence by recognizing moving objects, distinguishing sounds and recognize face & gestures.
Wouldn’t that be great to have a servant robot like ASIMO to help you organise the daily household chores and bring you tee as you just sit on the sofa reading a book or is the idea when you think about it longer not as tempting as it looks.
Humanoid robots will be fore more prominent in our life’s but one question is not answer yet. Will this be the golden age of humankind or will humanoid robots in the end replace us?
We can never be replaced by a humanoid, yes we can engage and work with them always to make things easier and efficient.
I’ve come to the conclusion that life is about to become simpler (well for those who can afford such technologies). I think of it as of golden age of humankind. It’s true that a lot of jobs will be deleted but this will also enable the creation of new set of jobs. It’s hard to believe that robots will replace us at some point.
Yes, to replace us humans with robots I would say maybe 20-50 years more, on the other hand, some people I totally agree that new set of jobs will be created we humans always come up with a new set of skills, concepts and innovations.
