Social media don’t need no education

Meanwhile, universities and other education institutions are now integrating  social media marketing courses to their panel, hoping to catch students’ attention.

As the evolution manifests in all domains, education is very affected by it. In the last years students used the social media networks a lot. More than 50% of students that have been active on internet have reported that social media helped them to perform in their activity by discussing about school topics.

Meanwhile, universities and other education institutions are now integrating  social media marketing courses to their panel, hoping to catch students’ attention. On the other hand, as in for undergraduate and postgraduate students looking for a job, it can be very easy by searching it on the Internet. We give a plus in this case to social media networks because we save a lot of time and energy

Furthermore, as suggested bbcactive.com, we must feel obligated to ask whether social media can be considered “teaching tool” and not as “simple distraction”.

On one hand, not all the students are the same, when we are thinking at the temptation that can distract you from your studies such as games, videos, music. Parents are often being told their children will get  better results if their spend less time spent on social media networks. Indeed, a negative impact of social media it is caused by diminishing the interaction and direct contact between humans. Using often social media for interactions is causing a negative impact on interpersonal level between humans.

To conclude, education and social media can be smartly combined to bring kids and teenagers better e-learning facilities; however, social media use must be controlled by education providers to make sure students are not loosing focus over their studies.

Privacy vs. Data

In our days social media has a huge impact on our lives whether we want it or not. The evolution of mankind is using as it’s main tool the technology.

Therefore, we can say that social media is the way to evolution and innovation. But are those evolutions and innovations right or wrong? Is it bad or is it good thing to let social media having so much power and influence in our private life? How can we say what if it’s useful to be spied online by locations apps such as Google Maps or CityMapper? Is it not useless to post so much on social media, knowing that the articles we post are transformed into date to get tracked? Who control those devices? How is the data collected be used in favor or against us?

police-850053_640To present the advantages and the disadvantages of using localization data apps, social media chats on privacy, I referred to people coming from all over the world, all ages and social background such as rural and urban environment tracked by a single entity: police authorities. A lot of people are using social media networks, even criminals. Police started tracking those criminal by inventing smart stratagems. Hunting villains down using social media networks appeared to be conclusive and brought good results. As mentioned by the website www.digitaltrends.com:

“Just as the Internet makes it easier to catch criminals, it also makes it easier for citizens to report police abuse.”

defenses-788789_640Even though, a lot of people are saying that they will not use these networks just for the reason that they want to be monitored by official authorities and state, mentalities are slowly accepting the share of data with governments. For example in the United States of America, 62% of Americans by the Pew Research Center said they had no problem cooperating with the government into sharing information about criminal records of individual citizens online.

As a conclusion I want to say that we can use social media with care without excess. We must now where to post and not to post  to avoid the negative impacts and live a drama-free life.
